No one has ever been fired for blogging. I know all about dooce, and most of the others, but none of them were fired for blogging, they were fired for what they said, which just happened to be in a blog. The only thing a blog does is make your statements more public, and thus easier for your employer to notice and take action upon.
I thought that was implied, but if you want to take it literally, have at it.
Not so much you, but the blogging community (and media lately) in gerenral seems to be overreacting to all of the people being fired “for blogging”. The focus is always, “John doe was fired for blogging.” and not, “John Doe was fired for badmouthing his company.”, or revealing secrets, or posing wearing only half a uniform, etc.
