New Pornographers

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007 at 4:25 pm

I’m not going to sugar-coat it for you: after the one-two combo of Use It and Bleeding Heart Show on Twin Cinema, I’m more than a little disappointed by Challengers, even if I do love All The Things That Make Heaven and Earth. More later.

That Catholic Guilt

Sunday, August 19th, 2007 at 1:47 pm

I feel bad that I haven’t been blogging much lately, but I don’t actually feel like writing anything, even though there’s stuff I do want to write about. I think the past few months caught up with me last weekend, and I’ve been totally drained ever since. I’m going to make more time for naps.

Lazy Sunday

Sunday, August 12th, 2007 at 4:22 pm

I don’t feel like doing a damn thing today, so I don’t think I will. Plus, I kind of feel like crap for no good reason.

Christian Turn-offs

Wednesday, August 8th, 2007 at 12:26 pm

I’ll definitely have more to say about this later, but the new Friendly Christian blog (a response to the Friendly Atheist) asked yesterday: Does The Word “Christian” Make Your Stomach Turn? I haven’t read all the comments, but there are some good responses (and of course, some idiots) in the dozen or so that I have.

Comments are closed there, but I’ll be posting my thoughts here sometime soon.

Bad Place To Be Caught Napping

One of the fluorescent bulbs in our bathroom died, and the other is on its way out, so it’s pretty dark and I almost fell asleep in there.

Saturday in the Office

Saturday, August 4th, 2007 at 6:22 pm

I kind of like coming into the office on Saturday. There’s no one else around (although Terrence is here with me today), and no clients are working, so I can keep working without being interrupted every ten minutes.

Of course, that brings a new problem - my eyes aren’t used to staring at a monitor for uninterrupted hours on end, and I tend to a headache if I don’t get up to wander around once in a while. Plus, it’s Saturday, and I should really be doing any number of other things.
